Electrical brought to spec —
and documented.

Panels, wiring, shore power, batteries and navigation systems rebuilt to standard, with an as-built record your surveyor and the next owner can actually follow.

The real problem

Nobody has ever regretted a labelled panel.

Most boats over fifteen years old carry three generations of electrical work: the factory harness, one refit, and a series of undocumented additions in whatever wire was on the shelf that day. It passes a casual look and then costs you an entire yard period the first time someone has to trace a fault behind a headliner nobody wants to open.

We rebuild systems to a standard and we leave a record: labelled runs, updated panel schedules, and an as-built package that goes into your file. It costs slightly more on the day and saves the next surveyor, the next technician and the next owner a great deal of time — which is where the value shows up.

What a systems refit covers

Wire, panel, and paperwork.

Get a scope & estimate
01

Panels & distribution

AC and DC panels, breakers, bus bars and distribution rebuilt and correctly labelled, with an updated panel schedule you can actually read.

02

Wiring & harness renewal

Correct marine-grade cable, proper support and chafe protection, terminations done right, and legacy runs removed rather than abandoned in place.

03

Shore power & galvanic protection

Shore power inlets, isolation, polarity and galvanic protection reviewed and corrected — the system most often left wrong on an older boat.

04

Batteries & charging

Battery banks, charging systems and monitoring, including lithium conversions with the switching and protection the installation actually requires.

05

Navigation & electronics

Instrument, radar, autopilot and network installation and integration, mounted and wired so servicing later doesn't mean opening the whole boat.

06

Bilge, pumps & alarms

Bilge pumps, float switches, high-water alarms and the monitoring that matters when the vessel is sitting unattended.

How a yard period runs

Four stages, audit to as-built.

Systems work is only as good as the record it leaves behind. Every stage produces documentation.

STAGE 01

Systems audit

Existing installation traced and photographed, faults and non-compliant runs identified, findings sent to you before any work is scoped.

STAGE 02

Scope & spec

A written scope with the components, standards and layout to be used — approved by you before anything is removed.

STAGE 03

Installation

Work executed under supervision with photo documentation of runs and terminations before panels and linings are closed up.

STAGE 04

Test & as-built

Systems tested under load, labelling completed, and an as-built documentation package delivered for your file and your surveyor.

FAQ

What owners ask about electrical work.

Do you follow ABYC standards?+
We work to recognised marine standards and specify which ones apply to your scope in writing, so your surveyor knows exactly what was followed. If your insurer requires a particular standard, tell us up front and it goes into the scope document.
Can you do a lithium battery conversion?+
Yes — but a lithium conversion is a systems project, not a battery swap. Charging sources, switching, protection and monitoring all have to be addressed together. We scope it that way or we recommend not doing it.
What documentation do I get at the end?+
Labelled runs, an updated panel schedule, and an as-built package with photos of the installation before it was closed up. That's what makes the next service visit cheap instead of exploratory.
Can you troubleshoot a fault I can't find?+
That's most of this work. The audit stage exists precisely to trace what's actually there rather than what the wiring diagram claims. You get the findings before we scope a repair.
Will you remove old wiring or just leave it?+
Removed. Abandoned runs are how a boat ends up with three unreadable generations of wiring — leaving them in place is what created the problem in the first place.
Can systems work happen during a paint or haul-out period?+
Yes, and bundling is usually the cheaper path: one yard period, one trip down, one set of lay days rather than three.
