Technical Context

All fiberglass and composite works are performed within Velport’s operational yard, providing proper access, environmental control, and sequencing with other shipyard services. This allows repairs to be executed under supervision and integrated with related structural or coating work when required.

Supported by dedicated composite work zones, controlled surface preparation protocols, and coordination with haul-out and painting operations.

Information for
Owners

Q: Can I be invoiced through a U.S. entity?

A:
Yes. Velport is operated by a U.S.-registered company. We provide standard U.S. invoicing (W9 available), accepting wire transfers and domestic payments. This simplifies vendor onboarding for corporate-owned vessels and insurance claims.

Q: How far is Ensenada from California?

Approximately 60 nautical miles south of San Diego. This allows easy operational access for refits and scheduled maintenance.

Q: What are the requirements for entry?

A valid Temporary Import Permit (TIP) and standard vessel documentation are required. Our team provides logistical guidance to ensure compliance.

Q: Can fiberglass repairs be combined with painting or gelcoat work?

Yes. Composite repairs are frequently coordinated with gelcoat refinishing or professional paint systems to ensure surface compatibility and long-term durability.

Q: What type of vessels benefit from fiberglass and composite repairs?

A: This service is commonly required for yachts and commercial vessels with fiberglass or composite hulls, decks, or superstructures affected by impact damage, fatigue, or localized delamination.

What this service covers

This service focuses on restoring and reinforcing fiberglass and composite structures affected by impact damage, fatigue, or long-term exposure. Proper composite work is critical not only for appearance, but for structural integrity and long-term vessel safety.

At Velport, fiberglass and composite repairs are executed as part of an integrated shipyard operation, allowing structural work, surface preparation, and finishing to be coordinated without compromising material compatibility or curing processes.
